Winnipeg - An Auspicious Beginning
Yesterday we completed the first of the public consultations for the NSEL initiative in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Our friends in Winnipeg provided a warm reception, and we heard a variety of inspiring, informative presentations regarding the work that is being done to support language and literacy development in the province as well as where there is still room to grow and improve.
The dialogue created within the room contributed not only to the NSEL initiative but provided Winnipegers already engaged in the literacy area with the opportunity to connect with one another. Hopefully this will lead to some successful partnerships in the future.
Many thanks go out to Leanne Boyd and Healthy Child Manitoba for their support in providing the simultaneous translation services and all of their help in coordinating the Winnipeg session.
It was certainly an auspicious beginning to the NSEL public consultation process, with engaging discussion taking place between panelists, presenters and attendees.
